Ah yes, good point i should have mentioned. I believe it is the 61.
I had looked at Thomann but wasn't sure how to tell if it would fit in non Korg cases. Thanks for the replies, will have a look into your suggestions. Oh, and I'm in the uk :-)

Where in the world are you? I work for a company that builds road cases. We're called Clydesdale Custom Case. I built my own for my K73.

Hard Case for Kronos

Post by JPROBERTLA »

I just ordered my third case from Roadcases. The price for their mid-level hard case for the k2-88 was $309.00. These cases are very well constructed and are not that much larger than the keyboard. They are also reasonably light. You can see them at their website.

I'm not Al, that impressed. With those plastic cases. A bass player friend of mine has 2 of them and they're both damaged and barely 2 years old. He gigs all the time but that's rediculous. He wants my company to build him proper road cases. Sure they cost a bit more but then again, think of what you paid for your equipment.

I got the Thomann Thon Keyboard Case III for the Kronos 88 (198 Euro) (partially PVC, partially metal). Is very good quality, and a bit lighter than the wood version.

Still a heavy beast to carry, this Kronos88 in a case, and I am pretty strong person....

I'd blame your buddy and his treatment of his cases. Wooden ones are just as susceptible to damage as plastic and in many cases, MORE susceptible.

I've been gigging for almost 30 years and I've never had a problem with any of my cases. The two wood cases I had sucked and I'll never use wood again.

I'm with Mc on this one Jeremy.
I've been using three Gator and SKB cases for the past ten years - they have a few scuffs but that's all.
Still, what would you expect from a bass player  :D

I've got the Gator ATA 61 for my Kronos. Done maybe 7 flights and gigged quite a bit. Seems fine.

Got the bigger 76 key one for the Nord Stage 2 88. One latch is slightly temperamental but overall, they seem fine. Cheap enough and lighter (not by much) than the wooden cases. I had a wooden Thomann one once for a CP33 and it flexed like hell...

I have a hard case from Thomann (Germany). Was quite cheap and for 61 very good, don't know about a 73/88 version. I really like the handles which are not from plastic/hard material but softer so it doesn't cut into your fingers.

I have this Gator case. You buy a Kronos at Street price and Kraft bundles the case in for free. I got it from Sweetwater who price matched the Kronos bundle for me.
