macbook pro and Korg microarranger?

Post by davawt »

Hi there
I am interested in setting up a Korg MicroArranger to a Apple Macbook pro.
Will the items work together like midi and usb cable type connection?
Will this setup work with Garageband?
I am new to Korg Microarranger but have used a Yam keyboard and all worked fine, is there a USB driver for the Korg Microarranger as with the yam it needed a driver installed?
Hope you can help I am getting a Korg Microarranger very soon.
bye

Hi again,
I think I got a few things wrong in the last post question.
I have been in touch with the Korg tech dept and they say any usb to midi will do as long as you have the drivers installed on your macbook.
I do, I bought a UX16 usb-midi interface, thats the yamaha one, I have been doing some stuff with one of their keyboards. I installed the driver for that.
According to the tech people it's that driver that counts and that it works with the interface. So I am ok to go get a Korg microarranger and connect it to my macbook, only need to make sure that the USB driver has detected the Korg MA and away I go. The driver is in the System pref's. double click to see if it has detected the Korg MA.
I will let you know the out come when the Korg MA arrives (Sunday-Monday)
Hope you all have a good weekend , bye
