Sequencer
Never tried to use the sequencer very much at all, but after watching the vid on You Tube, by Apex, (thanks Apex,) I thought I'd take a look, but it seems I may have a fault with my Kronos?
Following the Vid exactly as shown and when opening up the pattern edit menu there are only 3 active commands showing - the first 2 in the list and the FF/Rewind at the bottom,
all the others are 'greyed' out ??
'Put to MIDI track' command is not available???
Any ideas as to what I'm doing wrong, or, is the Kronos at fault?
Regards,
MC

Re: Sequencer
. Try to repeat the steps again and let me know what happened this time. I can't get that issue to duplicate on my machine. Every instance I see shows the 'put to midi track' as an active command.MusicLive wrote:Never tried to use the sequencer very much at all, but after watching the vid on You Tube, by Apex, (thanks Apex,) I thought I'd take a look, but it seems I may have a fault with my Kronos?

A HUGE HUGE thank you to Apex for doing the YouTube video on how to audition drum tracks and such. I really appreciate your help my friend! I really would like to use the Kronos for what it is designed for. Thank you again!

Apex,
Thanks very much for your kind reply...greatly appreciated.
I've tried to do exactly as you've shown on your video link and the same thing occurs?
Touch the RPPR tab to show the page and the page appears exactly the same as your page, but still can't get the pattern menu tab to show all of the commands...only 3 appear as active's! .. the same as previously mentioned
Also can't get the record button to switch on to record anything...the drum patterns are working once start is pressed, but when I select a bass and set it to MIDI 2, then press play, it produces a mess of a sound with continual bass pattern being played without me hitting a single note?? Drums are on MIDI 1...all very odd??](./images/smilies/eusa_wall.gif)
Just wondering if you are using the same software as me? Korg ver: 3.0.2
Kind regards,
MC

Yes I'm almost positive that I am on the latest Kronos operating system. I will check into this a bit more once I get down to the studio. Is anyone else having this issue?

please check and be sure that the midi track currently selected on your sequencer's main screen and the midi track selected in the pattern-rppr screen are the same. let me know what happens once you complete this.MusicLive wrote:Apex,

if you decide to use the hammer method, please make a video. I think you will have a viral youtube video and be an internet sensation overnight.... seriously.MusicLive wrote:Apex,
MIDI tracks are identical in either page.
I'd already double checked.
The menu still remains mainly greyed out.
Will re-set Kronos back to factory settings after backing up all of my system stuff.
Otherwise, a very large hammer may be required![]()
Thanks again.

Perhaps I should run a raffle on E-bay, so the winner gets to use the hammer whilst I do the video.
Maybe then I'll make enough money to fund a Kronos 2, - plus you'll all get to laugh at the vid: lol:
Not so sure as to what Korg would think seeing one of their machines being smashed to bits though.

I just checked and none of the commands are greyed out on my Kronos are greyed out.
Just a quick thought. From your Global page, do you have all the necessary boxes checked or unchecked to allow you to write to a sequence?
@Apex, Very cool video! Thanks. I've never really used the RPPR function before. I've always auditoined drum patterns from the drum track page. At the top of the screen, once you have your list up, there is a "safety pin". I just touch it and it locks so that the page doesn't always disappear but when I go to the Seq Rec button, the screen still goes away. Your way seems much better.
Happy Jeremykeys here!
