New Kronos (Kronos 2) Motherboard?
Hello there,
As my understanding, each model's SSD and motherboard is below.
But I'm not sure exactly for K2's motherboard.
Could you please let me know?
Name / Mainboard / SSD
=====================
Kronos / Intel D510MO / 30GB
Kronos X / Intel D525MW / 62GB
Kronos 2 / ? / 62GB
Thanks in advance,

I don't think anyone is going to know until Korg actually starts shipping them. If anyone tells you otherwise, they're likely just guessing.

Seriously, what does it matter? It either works or it doesn't. It will
either remain in production, or be discontinued at some point.
You pay your money, you take your chances. With anything, not just
a synth.

When I get mine in, the store near me is going to install my second SSD. (I'll be there with them)
When they do this, I'll see if I can get the MoBo model number, etc.

And the pre-installed software expansions...Bachus wrote:Not knowing the new hardware specs makes me wonder if the only real difference in the end will be the wooden side pannels...
I guess we'll find out soon enough.

Considering Intel® NM10 Express Chipset that suits Kronos subsystem , then Intel® Desktop Board DN2800MT or 2500
seems to be their next economic good option , (just a prognosis !)

If this is true, and I'm hoping it is, this would be most excellent. It supports DDR3, SATA 3 (which might explain one of the Kronos 2's owners comment saying that it boots faster than their other one)AntonySharmman wrote:Considering Intel® NM10 Express Chipset that suits Kronos subsystem , then Intel® Desktop Board DN2800MT or 2500

The only concern:
http://ark.intel.com/products/series/49 ... Processors
They're all EOL or discontinued (All Atom processors made by Intel)
I wonder if Korg sourced another manufacturer than Intel? It'd be surprising but definitely not out of the question.

Nope ... it's not possible without direct access to motherboard using VGA output and a keyboard in order to alterdave_r wrote:I imagine it would be possible to boot a Linux Live distro from a USB stick and use the 'dmidecode'
command to get the motherboard info? Less intrusive than opening up the case for those who prefer not to?

booting properties outside korg subsystem !
