Midi question

I currently have a boss rc-505 loopstation that I use as the midi master. I then 'midi out' from there to 'mid in' on the beats and then sync from there on to the bass and keys. My problem is two-fold, first the rc-505 start/stop button sometimes send messages to the beats and starts/stops the beats. The other problem is the lack of swing. I would like to use the ios app to midi in on the rc-505. Is this possible and would it work to solve both problems? What would you recommend I get to solve these problems?
