Hi, I got the KP3 as a Christmas present, however, Im a newbie and I dont know how to connected it to make it work!
I got the Pioneer XDJ-R1 running with Traktor and i want to use the KP3 to send effects to what is playing on traktor but the XDJ-R1 doesnt have a send and a return effect jack, it only have an auxiliar jack.
Can anyone please tell me what can i do?

You could get a 2nd mixer to merge Traktor and KP3 (use KP in send mode). But you would then have to find a way of recording this 2nd mixer somehow (back into comp maybe).
You could plug Traktor direct into KP3 and set KP to direct mode (this switch is small on the back-switches between send/direct),then monitor from your KP outputs.Again ,recording would be a problem ,but at least you could hear yourself jam and do parties live this way.
I'd go for latter as a quick fix.
Sounds like you need a seperate audio interface so you can re-root audio from your KP back to your mac.
Or get a 2nd recording device (another lap top)?
Hopefully someone else may have some simpler advice..

If we are on the same page input = return and output = send
I see multiple input and output jacks listed on the xdj-r1's official page:
http://pioneerdj.com/english/products/d ... dj-r1.html
scroll down and click on "Main Specifications"
it lists:
Inputs: PHONO/LINE × 2 (RCA), MIC × 1 (1/4inch PHONE), AUX × 1 (RCA)
Outputs: MASTER OUT × 2 (XLR × 1, RCA × 1), HEADPHONE MONITOR OUT × 2 (front 1/4inch PHONE, MiniPin), BOOTH OUT × 1 (RCA)
This is what the back of your dj unit looks like, right?

Send the audio from one of the line in (inputs) to the stereo rca jacks on the kp3, then return it from the kp3 from the line out (send) jacks and back into one of the inputs on the xdj-r1. Not sure which one will work best since I've never used anything like it, so you'll have to go through some trial and error if some of the input and or output jacks aren't perfect for the job. Then send what's on the xdj-r1 to your mac, i'm guessing via usb. That will connect you back to the virtual Traktor program.
