Volca midi out

Post by Epignosis567 »

So I finally did it and voided my warranty and soldered on a midi out Jack to my volca keys. I really wish they would've included this in the original version. It makes this device infinitely more valuable. So my only question is if anyone else has done this and what their experience is. I thought it was working good at first using it to sequence my MS 20 but I don't think so anymore. The notes will consistently hang on. I'm not sure if it's not sending midi note off data. Or if maybe there's something else wrong. It constantly happens whenever I am programming a sequence and I turn the octave key. Is anyone else experiencing this?

The MIDI implementation chart for the Keys appears to indicate that it neither sends nor receives note off messages.

Wow. I didn't even check. That's a real shame. I'm really losing respect for korg after all this. They knew people wanted midi out, they clearly labeled the solder points (which didn't even need to be included in the first place) but then they don't support it in anyway. It's just kind of a jerk move. Why not just update the firmware even to support midi out? They knew people would solder the mod on, why else would they label the solder points?

changing octaves - this will cause a problem bcs you're
suddenly not even on the same part of the keyboard,
and the note you held before is still not released in the
other octave dimension! :)

meh, just kidding. but you get this problem with some VST
plugins.
