How to repair a dead key on a Kronos 61?

Post by Andriessen »

Returning from holiday I discovered a dead key on my Kronos 61 (first B note).

Can I repair it myself? (Warrenty is over.) Do I need to replace the rubber contact strip (http://www.syntaur.com/3900.html); will that solve my problem?

Another B note has a tendency to sustain longer than other keys. Can that also be solved replacing the contact strip?

I would try cleaning the contacts first. Not that hard on the 61 note version. No liquids or cleaners, just wipe the contact surfaces so there is no dust etc.
