Remove extra measure in Juke Box/Song Play mode?

Post by msl-kybd »

I noticed an annoying bug in the PA3X software tonight: When you queue up multiple MP3 files for 1 of the Players in Song Play mode, it will let you customize the order as wanted in the Juke Box tab and it will flow from one song to the other - but it always seems to insert an extra measure before each song!

I want it to flow straight from one song to another and the only way to have it do that seems to be manually changing the song (setting it for the 2nd Player and then pressing the 2nd Player's Start button at about the same time as the 1st Player's Stop button.)

I checked the MIDI files being played (all saved in the "B.SEQ" from live performance) and they definitely don't have an extra leading measure.

Is there a way to bypass this?

The Style Record mode seems to do the same weirdness when you import content created by the sequencer, but you can easily remove it there by "cutting" the extra measure. That doesn't exactly work on the fly in Song Play, though.

Any ideas would be appreciated.

You might want to see if the "FAST PLAY" function found in GLOBAL > PREFERENCES > PLAY SETUP helps. See page 158 of the user manual.

Thanks! I did that and it did reduce the length of the break, but there still is a small delay between 1 file and the next.

If these are playlists you tend to use a LOT (rather than something you set up differently each time) I would simply use an MP3/Audio editor to make one long MP3 out of all the files, and then you could easily adjust track gaps down to zero, or even crossfade between them...

This might also be a great time to adjust any track with a too prominent volume, or unbalanced EQ.
