Hi folks,
I’ve somehow messed up my user samples:
Over the past year or so, I’ve been gradually adding a collection of samples to my Kronos, using them within programs and combis and getting them all to autoload. A bit of a learning curve, but seemingly successful.
Yesterday I tried to create some new MultiSamples from wavs I’d made on my PC. I saved the wavs on a USB stick and copied them onto the internal SSD. I refreshed my memory on how to create samples by watching this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nURLCUGAzTw
It says you should ‘Clear and create a sampleset…. Delete MS and check both boxes (All Multisamples, Delete Samples Too?) and press OK.’
I created my samples and converted them to programs, then saved the PCGs and All Sample data to my usual filename.
When I selected a combi which used an old sample, I got the dreaded ‘Samples Not Loaded’ message. In a panic, I rebooted the Kronos hoping the KSC Autoload would take care of that. It didn’t. There were no samples at all in the memory - not even the factory samples.
I found a USB backup of my files from about a month ago and copied that to the SSD and cleared everything as I loaded, but this has thrown up a different problem - It loads all the samples into memory, but all of my own programs seem to reference the wrong samples. If I look in the Sampling menu - Recording P0, the Multisamples are all listed and play correctly within the Sampling page, but they seem to be in a different numerical order than before. I think they’ve all shifted up a place or two.
When I select an HD-1 program which uses one of my samples, the wrong one is being used in OSC1. If I change it to the correct sample and save the program, then go to a combi which should use that program, the wrong program number is used in the slot!
Incidentally, some of my HD-1 programs no longer have a name - just a number.
What’s going on? Help please!

I don't know if this will of much help in this situation, given that it sounds like everything is all ballsed up, but there is the Move MS (Move Multisample) command to help you get your samples back in order & correctly referenced in programs... maybe that will save some time rather than editing each program... See pg 725 in the Parameter Guide. There is also the Move Sample command, if needed - pg 723.
In the Operation Guide, starting on pg 156, it talks about saving User Sample Banks and that two KSC files are created (maybe a backup is created somewhere on the SSD?), and also about forcing a new User Sample Bank ID. I don't know if this is relevant - just thought I'd throw that out there as info. Perhaps someone can jump in with more details on how all of this works.

I have had a similar problem and I think you should begin one more time at the begining by loading the factory set and then you will load ONE by ONE each of your mulitisamples and own programs and combis and after each loading save ALL and then you will go on with the next and etc... ... Ii is a long proceed with a lot of time spent but at the end you will recover ALL

trees are going fast.

You'd have to ask Qui Robinez why, but I would suppose that the instructions presume you do not already have any of your own samples and you'll be starting from scratch, or that you will be making a new sample set independent of your existing samples and saving them under a different filename.petarl wrote:Thanks for the suggestions. I think I may have to spend a day rebuilding my setup. Just out of interest, why would the QR video say to delete other MS before creating a new one?
