I can make changes to a particular sound(program) and save it to the User Bank, but when I recall the edited sound while in style play, the edited parameters are not there, just the basic sound. I can recall the edited sound in Program mode but not in Style Play.
An example is taking an organ sound and applying the rotary effect to it and saving to a user bank, the recalled sound is the same as that before I made the edits.
Surely you should be able to recall the full edited sound in style mode.
Tearing my hair out over this one !!!
MicroArranger question

As I understand it, when you edit a program and save it, then use it with a style or in a performance, the program will then be using whatever effects are assigned to that part of the performance. So in your case, if you want the rotary effect, you'll have to assign it again in the performance, it won't just automatically transfer from the program to the performance.
This may seem redundant, but it also allows you to change effects in various performances for the same program, which is nice.
This is the way I see it from my 2 1/2 years experience with the micro Arranger, if I'm wrong, I'd be glad to know.

Priority of Upper1-Effect
Each sound (factory- or user-program) does not contain an effect but only a link to effects fx1/fx2. This linked effects you can change in program-operating-mode (capitel page 19 - effects).coffeekev wrote:As I understand it, when you edit a program and save it, then use it with a style or in a performance, the program will then be using whatever effects are assigned to that part of the performance. In realtime-tracks this linked effects only are effective if you select a sound-program for UPPER1.
So it is always advisable to use PERFORMANCES, rather than SINGLE PROGRAMS, when playing even a solosound, since a performance lets you select effects, transposition, plus many other parameters together with the programs.
if selecting programs directly for upper2, upper3 and lower it is considerable that you get the same effects for this tracks as previously assigned to upper1. that is because upper1-effect-links has priority. so you can play soundprograms for upper2, upper3 and lower only with effects assigned to upper1 by selecting upper1 directly by sound-select or by means of a performance.
Styles are using effects assigned to a style-setting and does not depend on effects linked to soundprograms.
However, also for Songs it is only possible to use finally not more than four effects for its sixteen tracks, as maximum number of four effect-processors (number of two for realtime-tracks) have to be shared somehow.
kind regards
