Yes, you can load at the global level but the problem there is that, that instance of kontkat is open all the time through the entire session. I still need to use different articulations from the instance of kontakt (needing different midi chaneels which bring me right back to square one...)

I'm pretty sure you can set up different articulations within a single instance of SS. At least I've been switching between pizzicatto and arco using my sustain pedal a bunch of times.

It boils down to me being able to control 8 different (and very large) sounds on my computer from the kronos and Im rtrying to find the best way of doing this. I need to use these 8 sounds throughout the patches

I understand, sadly I won't be near my computer for a while so I can't really check for you. Perhaps the SS manual will yield a clue? I doubt NI expects you to load 8 instances of SS if a single string part needs a few different articulations.

Hey, you can can alternate between two articulations on session strings (using a pedal ) and there is keyswitches but thats not an option because of two reasons, one this gig goes really quick, two fast bars of one patch and Im on the next already. So I really just want to be hitting next next next if ya get me....

The second is that I have stuffed mapped all over the place on the keyboard so sometimes it would get in the way of keyswitches

Thanks for your input

I should also point out that some times I have to use two of the articulations at the same time, Ie trem strings in left and trill strings in the right

No way to get Naive Instruments Session Strings into the Kronos? it would make life a lot easier. and since it sounds like you're going to be in a live situation you don't want any hiccups do too complex setups. But I'm sure you know what you're doing if you're at that level. I just hope they're paying you enough for you to be going still above and beyond the call for them.

Its not bad pay, but its a gig I really want to impress on. I have though about samping into the kronos, But I dont think the result would be a lot better thant some of the default combination strings unless I sample all the layers of each articulation (some of the articulation are 500mb each
