My bad for not stating, the synthesizer will be used for mostly home use and some gigging

I have a pair of the QSC K12 and must say they sound exceptional however, I use them for my small PA setup. I use a Barbetta Sona Elan 41c amp that sounds incredible for any keyboard that I use. You can check it out at www.barbetta.com

There are an assortment of keyboard amps available, I find this amp to be the best sounding amp of the bunch in my opinion.

Hope this helps,

Those options I think are too expensive for me. I think I'm gonna do what lz said and get one of the powered pa speakers that lz listed

Do the powered pa speakers work well for all the kronos x sounds

Yes.
The QSC K10 is very popular. But going stereo will improve your sound more than going with a larger speaker, in my humble opinion.

I use two QSC K10. I tried one but wasn't thrilled. I had to have stereo, if only for me. :D

what about the K8's - for monitoring and small venue amplification, do you think the low end would be missed? I currently have an in-ear based personal monitoring setup for larger venues, but I'm thinking of going towards some actual speakers (to replace the cruddy Behringer amp) I'm currently using in smaller situations.

I tired the K8 K10 and K12, and the small 8 inch EV unsure the model. The ev cooling was loud for me. but Ironically enough I think the K10 is probably as loud had I known this I may have stuck with the EV it sounded nice. The K8 missed some low end for me but I plan on adding the Ksub or KW181 at some point. Which Brings me to the K10 it sounded great had enough low for me for now but the K12 was a bit better, but to my ear the K10 seemed to couple with the Ksub where I was at better then the K12. All subjective of course. I would say load up run to a shop with them and try the different combinations. When I tested I didn't yet have a Kronos so i used some music I had and the wave drum which really comes alive with good speakers and stereo! My impression of how it all sounded carried over the the Kronos for me so it worked out well.

Also depends on if your speakers are meant just for personal monitoring or also as FOH in small places. For personal monitoring, I personally don't mind some low roll off - too much low end on stage can create a lot of "mud", with the bass amp and kick drum and what not. But if it's also for the audience you may want a fuller sound.

Agreed - when I use my K10 on stage for monitoring, I switch it to the "ext sub" setting to pull out the lows. Sounds a lot clearer that way and you get bass from the FOH subs anyway.

I only use mine at home and did not buy them at the same time. Oddly even though the QSC has two inputs I never did try running left and right Kronos outs I to one speaker. Sadly I am not home to try. I will say if this is for home I get a lot of satisfaction out of good headphones as well and in some cases I like the headphones better.

Just throwing this out there but perhaps you would be better served with some good headphones? I use some 15 year old so us and some dt880 pros. Love them both. At home you really don't need speakers just kind of a listening and reviewing luxury.

I may use headphones sometimes but besides that what would be the best speaker to use at home

Very subjective, The others will have much better advice on that! They have a lot more experience then I do!
