Help ! every 4th key on Korg X50 is silent

Post by Greywolf20 »

All..I am having a problem with my X50 ...out of nowhere ...every 4th key is silent on my keyboard...this happened once before and I took it to the service repair guy...he checked it out and said nothing was wrong...that maybe it was a power issue or something...well it has happened again..it is not a power issue..I triple checked that !! ..because it is not a random event ( it's every 4th key ) ..I wonder if it might be a processor issue...has anyone else had to deal with this...any suggestions...

also...if I decide to reformat the X50 ...can I use X50 Editor on my computer to restore keyboard back to the way I have it now ?...thanks in advance...RW

I had exactly the same problem with one of my Yamaha keyboards. It was just a bad connection. I removed the ribbon cable and re-seated it, after that it has worked like a charm.

I've never had my Korg apart, but I expect the all use a similar system.
