Post by uriahsmusic »

Ok..so I go to sequence mode....then I hit the dropdown menue to load a template....good so far!....I choose to copy the drum pattern onto track one....good so far!...it copies the pattern from measure 1>8.....now for measure 9 through 16 I want some other pattern.... there is a drop down for it but when I pick another pattern...I only hear the first pattern I picked?????...How do I audition the various drum patterns in seq mode?

Please and thanx!

If I understood you correctly, you want to load the pattern first to a sequencer track and then listen to it?

AFAIK there is no need to load the pattern, if you only want to listen to it. What I do is getting my drum track ready with a drum set, than activate the drum track button, select a pattern from the drop down list and hit some key to start the drum track running. If I change my selection in the drop down list I can step through various patterns. I take note of the patterns that I liked best and load them into a track later.

Hope this is of some help :)

Hi.

You can also copy Preset Drum patterns to your User patterns and edit.

Also from the drop down menu.....'put to Midi Track' place the pattern at the measure that you want it to be. You can then check (audition) it back on the 16 Track Midi Sequencer Page.

When you pick a template, it takes you to a dialog box that lets you pick the template to load.
There is a box that needs to be checked if you want the drum pattern to load with the template.
If you check the box to include the drum pattern another box comes up which lets you choose a drum pattern and to which measures the drum pattern will be placed.
There is a drop down menu with all of the 600+ drum patterns but NO WAY TO AUDITION THEM!
Were they expecting us to go through all 600+drum patterns before we chose this option, or is there a way, as I pick for example "POP 1 all" to actually hear it before I commit to it?

These are not audio sample loops... so it's up to you, if you want to audition the pattern with the currently selected drum kit or load the sound intedended to be used by the drum track.

To audition, you simply have to change the drum track. Dial in any other drum pattern, or use up/down data button to go through them.

Loading drum pattern with template is only if you want to actually copy the pattern onto a track.

Uriahsmusic,
I am being maddened by the exact same problem. My former keyboard was the Triton Extreme and you COULD audition the drum patterns by simply pushing the stop/start button on the sequencer as you scrolled thru to pick the one you wanted. This isnt working on the Kronos and for the life of me I dont know why they would remove this simple tool.

Did you come up with a good workable solution for this?

I guess I just figured out my own problem. I had disabled Karma in the Global mode, that is why I got no sound when I went to audition the drum patterns. Turned it back on and all is well for now. :)
