Hi guys,
I own a 61 Kronos X, and would like, as my live rig, to use it along with a hammer action midi controller on stage, having 2 keyboard with the sounds of the Kronos. I have programmed a combination that combines strings at midi channel 1 and piano at midi ch 2 so I can play it with the 88 keybed. My problem is that sound guy i'm working with tells me that he can't control the balance between the keyboards since they both come from the L/R exit of the kronos and if he wants the piano to be louder he has to raise the volume of the other sound too. Should I connect differently to the PA system? or change settings in combi mode of my Kronos?
thank you
volumes of midi channels

I've always ran my own summed mix to FOH. Because of all the patches I use, the sound tech would not be able to keep track of what was on what channel if I sent him sends for individual sounds (especially back in the 80s when we carried 7 or 8 keyboards on stage).
I suppose if you're only using two (or even just a handful) of sounds through an evening, it may be better to send him separate sends. It sounds like piano may be your primary sound, so if you kept the piano always on one stereo send and just routed the strings (and any other patches you use) on another pair (if running stereo mains) then he'd have better control over the FOH mix.
