Nope I am actually not - 10.5kW system.. powers the studio, the house and pushes the surplus back into the grid. I am totally serious.MunkeyBoy wrote:I'M moving onto a boat shortly which will be mostly solar and off grid so I need to be very power conscious.ed_f wrote:Well actually no.. and you are right personal preference. Of course, since my entire studio is powered by solar - I LOVE to plug things in.MunkeyBoy wrote:The Kindle has to be charged a computer has to be plugged in and neither of those will be more environmentally efficient than a paper manual especially if recycled material is used.
Using solar you need to be even more thoughtful about consumption so I get the feeling your pulling my leg!

PDF manuals
Seriously, I used to be one of the people who was irked every time I purchased a new piece of computer software and discovered no printed manual in the box. But times, they are a changin'.
I got used to working with PDF documents and never went back. The search capabilities are FAR better than trying to look up pages in an index! If there's a specific set of words you recall in a sentence anyplace in the 200+ page book that you'd like to locate, you can just key them into a search and voila!
If you find paper more convenient when trying to work with something specific from a manual, great! You can print out the relevant pages from the PDF as needed, and they come out on your printer just like the originals. No more nonsense of trying to keep a thick manual open to a certain page when you sit it someplace next to your keyboard, or having to stick bookmarks in it.
I will admit it would be pretty slick if the KRONOS could open a PDF for viewing right on the touchscreen ... but I know ... that's getting a little bit out of the scope of its core capabilities.
