I can think of three ways to do what you want.

Two can be done on the Kronos and one with a drum machine. All methods would need preparation.

There are a some things I'm not sure about:

Do you stop playing in-between the songs you play?
Do you change tempo (BPM) when playing different songs?
Do you use the same drum pattern for all the songs you play?

1) (When pausing/stopping between songs) If you have a list of favourite Programs/Combi's that you always use, (or for those you are most likely to use), then you can for each Program/Combi set-up (edit) the Drum Track to play the same drum pattern on each Program/Combi. Whenever you change to one of these Program/Combi’s then the drum track you use will be there ready to play when you press a key on the keyboard. (Remember to change and save the tempo to the speed you play songs as the Program/Combi BPM’s are all different in the default factory set).
You can save each of those Programs/Combis to an empty bank/slot, or you could save the Programs/Combis that you have edited in the same locations they are in now and save your edits as a .PCG file, and then you can load the saved PCG file before doing a concert/gig.

2) (If you use different drum patterns and pause/stop between songs) Copy the Drum Patterns you use most into empty User Pattern slots next to each other. After you have changed Program/Combi then you can open the screen/page where you set the drum patterns and select the drum kit and pattern from the drop down pattern menu. This would take longer 'live' and is more complicated. You would also need to adjust the BPM tempo after changing to a new program/Combi (‘Tap Tempo’)

3) Use an external Drum Machine (if you use one of the Korg Electribe ‘S’ series you can load your own ‘ethnic’ drum samples if you want). Connect it to the Kronos by Midi cable and set the Kronos to ‘External Midi’ with ‘local control’ set to ‘On’. That way you will be able to place the Kronos keyboard but the Tempo will be set by the Drum Machine and any Tempo changes can be set using the Tempo Tap on the drum machine. If you use different drum patterns then (in the Electribes) you can change patterns/variations without the drum machine stopping. As the drum machine has a separate audio output to the Kronos the drums would continue playing while you change Program/Combi in the Kronos.

I think the easiest way is to use a drum machine. (In the UK Electribes can be picked up on E-bay for about £100 +postage).

I hope this makes sense. Please ask if I haven't been clear enough.

Thanks for the video link :)

Just to check my understanding:

1) You have a combination (Combi Mode) that you have made already.
The Combi contains 5 programs that you change between during a song and you want to keep the drum track running when you change programs.

*The drum track will keep running in Combi Mode. If you put all Timbres (Programs) on the Global Midi Channel then you can select programs that will sound using the 'solo' key. Everything will keep running in synchronisation. *

2) There are songs you play that use the same Combi with the 5 programs but you want to change the Drum Track (Pattern, Tempo) depending on which song you are asked to play.

*When you are playing keep the screen open that has the Drum Track settings. Combi -> EQ/Vector Control -> Drum Track tab. (See page 441 in the Parameter Guide). Open the 'Pattern' drop down box and press the 'paperclip' to keep the menu open. You can then select different drum patterns as you are playing and the pattern will change while the drum track is running and in synch. You can change the tempo of the drum track using the 'Tap Tempo' or the Tempo knob (Page 6 Operation Guide).*

Excuse me if I haven't understood what you want to do. If I have please explain again what you want to do and how you are setup for live playing.

If you set up your Combinations in Sequencer Mode you should be able to trigger RPPR drum patterns using the Nanopad. I think there have been earlier threads that talked about doing this.

yes but in sequencer to set combinations it is necessary to loaded first and it requires short time and its inpossible for live playing in one song to loaded 5 combinations by necessary
