I have a Korg PS60 that will not complete the boot up sequence. This is what it does:
1. Turn on Power
2. Shows full character boxes on the top row of the 2 x 24 display.
3. Wait 01:15 and it shows PS60 at the top right
4. Wait and additional 02:30 and it shows:
PS60
Korg v.0.0.
5. Never completes boot up.
I am pretty sure that the main ROM is corrupted, but would anyone have any suggestions - don't really want to send it in if there is a way to reload the rom through some method.
I am also not able to use the standard initialization steps (Performance 4 + Octave Down) or by pressing the 2 transpose buttons for OS load.
I have been repairing many synth models for years, but this one is too new for me.
Much appreciated.

Korg PS60 Never completes boot up sequence

Found a solution....
While I was not able to put the PS60 in update receive mode, I figured that the MIDI might be able to still receive sysex.
So, I plugged the MIDI into my MIDI interface, loaded up MIDI-OX and selected the proper MIDI IN/OUT ports.
I wasn't able to receive messages so I decided to send it sysex. I loaded the OS file for the PS60 OS v1.0.1 and sent it to the PS60.
MIDI-OX crapped out due to the transmit speed.
I turned off the PS60 and to my amazement it booted to v1.0.0. This somehow got the Korg booting properly. I plugged the USB and Windows 7 saw the Korg MIDI Driver.
I updated the OS to v1.0.1 using the KMUpdate utility and I now have a fully working and updated PS60!
Cheers.
