Serious loss of volume on EMX1

Post by tyebillion »

Frequently I am experiencing a serious loss of volume on my EMX1. It goes really low in volume and somewhat fuzzy sounding. It seems to come back to life randomly. One time it lost volume, I turned the tube gain knob slightly and it suddenly came back. I am wondering if the tubes are faulty. Has anyone else experienced this problem? I am thinking of getting replacement tubes.

Thanks.

Defiantly replace the tubes regardless!

I got those JJ Hi-Performance Gold Pin ones .. I run my tube gain at almost maximum all the time and really enjoy the tone they add.

I’ve had intermittent audio loss, fuzzy audio etc and got the outputs replaced by a local electronics tech (cost about $150)
And I’ve never had a probably since, and my EMX’s fly a lot!

Just don't spend that much on the tubes. Should be able to do it for half that price & fit them yourself.

$150 was to get the outputs replaced (L/R and 3/4) not the tubes.

The tubes I did myself
