Legacy Wavestation Question

Post by Mellontikos »

Actually 2 questions.

I use Reason 6.5. I've been thinking of getting the Legacy software, primarily because I really miss some of the Wavestation sounds.

Is there a way to use it with ReWire? If not, is there another way to get Reason to use the sounds as if it were a Rack?

Also, I remember hearing a demo of a WS Patch called "Tauri XY" on the net somewhere, and it has since disappeared. I'm wondering if anyone recognizes this patch. It sounded very similar to the stock "Deep Atmosphere" patch, and it sounded very kick ass!

Could this be a patch that is included in one of the WS expansion cards? If so, is it in the Legacy collection?

Sure you can use any of the VST versions of the Legacy stuff, but if you want to use them with Rewire, then you need host software, such as Cubase as just one example. Reason will then be slaved to its clock. You can use any hardware with MIDI, but you need Reason 7 and a MIDI interface in order to do that.

Definitely, you can use ReWire. I would suggest trying Reaper as your ReWire slave as it's very lean, efficient, and affordable.
