Controller or other keyboard with key fell like KORG M3?

Post by Vadim »

recently played a friend's Korg M3. The key feel is not only the best I played, but with that key feel I played everything with better timing, and I play keyboards for over 17 years

i can't afford to add M# to my set up, especially if I only tend to use it as a controller.

I have Fantom-G6 and peavey dpm-c8. dpm is great 88 key controller but fantom-g is used only as sound module, I don't really like its key feel even thought its better than most 61 key controllers and keyboards out there.

I like fantom-g sounds, and I got TR-rack that is my favorite sound module from korg, (also planning to get 01/rw or 01/w) so it would be a bit redundant to have Tr-rack and m3.

does m50 or Kross use the same keybed?

anyways, in the world of DAW it makes sense to release controllers with great feel, but ironically it is the opposite, midi controllers have, or I should say don't have any key feel at all

Check out Controller Keyboards made by Studiologic.

They use Fatar Keys which have also been used in the OASYS (afaik) and i'm pretty sure that RH3 from the M3-88 is "based" on a Fatar Design.

Look for the Studiologic SL-990 Pro if you want to save money and only need MIDI.

If you need more control and USB check the Studiologic VMK188 PLUS

As usual, play the keys before you buy them.

The M50 and Kross do not use the same keybed as the M3. They are not as good.

I would still go to a Store and test the Studiologic Keyboards.

It's still your best bid.
