Filter flavors

Post by CharlesFerraro »

So people talk about "oh that Moog filter sound" or what have you in regards to hearing characteristic signatures in music. I personally don't think it's easy to say, "Now that is a Prophet 5" when listening to a song but whatever. What I'm getting at is, do you think a lot of these blippity bloops are an MS-20? Richard D. James has been known to use one, but he also undoubtedly has a huge arsenal.

Sounds like there's a lot of MS-20 resonance going on to me though: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1QAjj20w ... uUqbqggEHw

Honestly, it sounds like a Roland. Given the envelope snappiness and general tone, I'd say it just may be a 303. 303's and MS-20's have always been confused.
