Well you're entitled to your opinion of course but I feel like anyone who would say that simply doesn't understand the amazing programming that went into Trash 2. That plug-in is many times more versatile then any single-knob tube drive could be (assuming the tube is modeled after the electribe series). Youtube it, the breadth of options and of course most importantly, the sound of Trash 2 is amazing. It's a terrible thing to think someone might actually believe that because there is a gimmicky "actual tube" placed in a machine it could possibly trump the years of R&D put in to create the flexibility and fidelity of Trash 2. Theres no way this isn't going to sound offensive but I have to call your statement "religious analog ignorance".EvilDragon wrote: In fact it's going to sound better because an actual tube (even if it's a "starved" tube like in Korg's ValveForce design) will trump 0s and 1s any time of day and night.

I tried Trash 2 and I just pure don't like it. Sorry.CharlesFerraro wrote:Well you're entitled to your opinion of course but I feel like anyone who would say that simply doesn't understand the amazing programming that went into Trash 2. BTW I'm not religious about analog (in fact everything I own currently is purely digital), nor am I ignorant. Just talking from my experience with tube amplifiers. A tube is a tube. It's the real deal. Even, as I said, in "starved" design such as ValveForce.
You're of course entitled to your own opinion. But that doesn't mean it's an absolute truth.

Well received, EvilDragon. Of course there are strong opinions regarding the Analog vs. Digital debate and I firmly plant myself on the digital end. I don't see a difference between the two in any fundamental way so I look at analog and digital specs on equal footing. If Trash2 were analog would you say that it would be better than a ValveForce tube? If there were a plug-in emulation modeled after a ValveForce design would you call it inferior to the "real deal"? What I look at is the flexibility with which a sound module or effect lets the user tailor sound and the quality of the result analog or otherwise. I wouldn't say a piece of analog gear 'beats' its digital contemporaries just because it is a physical unit. It would have to beat similar products based on sound quality and capability. Personally, I doubt a single-parameter type drive can beat the options or sound quality of Trash 2.EvilDragon wrote: I tried Trash 2 and I just pure don't like it. Sorry.I like Mokafix (discontinued) and TSE plugins if I need to distort something with quality, and for free (TSE).

Your preference for vacuums is perfectly valid in light of your experience with them and Trash2. In reading your post I incorrectly assumed you weren't familiar with Trash2/were ignorant of its ability thus making a baseless "analog auto-win" statement. My apologies for probably seeming rude.

The german "Keyboards" magazin has anounced to present the MiniMS20 tomorrow 25.01.13.
http://www.musik-media-shop.de/media/de/gallery/1762/0/
(In the background we see the original sequencer SQ10!?)
So it is real. And since the german korg.de site showed both with the same page layout, it seems the silly named Kingkorg is also real.
Let's see what it is capable of.
