No i think "gritty" is in how one uses a synth(in most cases). It looks cool, I can agree that there is no much keys there to play around on... My biggest complaint was that she could recall the specs of the thing but when it came to operation it seemed like she was trying to figure it out herself.Johnny Sniper wrote:Demo of the new Sub Phatty here

So it's a 'gritty' version of the Little Phatty?

I'd say getting rid of stock before the next iteration. The G has been discontinued (I believe - it's not in this years product catalogue) but dealers still have units for sale. My local dealer has 4 or 5 of them.Bald Eagle wrote:I'd say more like completely abandoning the workstation market.stuck wrote: So they're still flogging the fantom for another year? wow.

Korg announcements
Is it usually this quiet before a NAMM show? I am not hearing of any big Korg announcements. Is Korg annoucing any new products? or nothing this year. How common is this?
I wish Korg would give some road map to their future products. If they arent releasing any new SV-1 updates or my dream of an SV-2, it would be nice to know so we can all make other plans.

NAMM didn't start yet, so this is all quite normal.RogerL wrote:Is it usually this quiet before a NAMM show? I am not hearing of any big Korg announcements.

...and the KingKorg is not a hoax either.
I'm really looking forward to seeing some demos.

That King Korg has the same casing as the Krome 61. So, it still could be a photoshop job. Has anything official come out? Journalists can sometimes be fooled like anybody else. We'll see on thursday...

The G-7 was discontinued a long time ago. The G-6 and G-8 are still listed on the website and haven't been relegated to the "discontinued" section yet. Still, it's a possibility.cello wrote:I'd say getting rid of stock before the next iteration. I like your capability of not getting your hopes up. If I were like you I would never get disappointedblinkofanI wrote:That King Korg has the same casing as the Krome 61. That KingKorg looks like a rip-off of an older Roland RS-7/9. Now, at first, I thought it was a PS job. But it is Korg's 50 year anniversary- so GOLDen. They just might release a gold keyboard to commemorate the year. So here is hoping the do- I would actually get in on that- but would look terrible against my red SV-1.

Seeing will be believing and like djeactus was just saying why bother to get your hopes up on rumors. Each day has it's own surprises both good and bad. Perhaps we will get a nice surprise perhaps we will wait. Either way I still have some pretty cool stuff to play with and more I would like to get even prior to NAMMblinkofanI wrote:That King Korg has the same casing as the Krome 61.
