Triton classic SCSI disk problem

Post by trishthedish »

Hi, I have a Triton classic with the SCSI board fitted.

I recently bought a SCSI hard drive to run off it, but the Triton hangs when it's connected.

So a couple of questions:

1. Does the SCSI bus have to be terminated?
2. What format does the disk have to be? I think it's currently formatted for E-MU so possibly EOS?

Try using termination and a fat32 partition.

Thanks Insanitor,

I'll try and rig the disk up to a pc and re-format it.

All working now I have the right scsi cable!

Formatted the disk as FAT16 on a PC first, after doing a low level format.

Triton then formatted the disk to 4GB which is the max it can use.

Not all 25 way D to 50 way SCSI cables are the same!!!

I had one way back with a 5.1 gig drive as that was the biggest it could read.
Sweetwater set me up with the cables and enclosure. It worked flawless for many years and saved a lot of time. Could move samples from the computer to the triton fast. I let the triton format it.
