Komponent System

Post by bfburkejr »

I would love to have seen the Komponent System stick around for at least a few models, but it seems to be dead. I have an 88 key with a Radias module + EXB Radias and EXB 256, can't get a firewire exb. I cut one of the Aluminum pieces to fet between the Radias and the M3 Module Looks great and is handy. Hard drive can mount below and CD/DVD can mont verticallyon one side with enough room for a mouse. I put a monitor above the boards ( I have a Novation 61 SL Remote above the m3) . makes woorkoing with Soft syths a breeze. Mouse is wireless.

Pics

I have 2 x 27" Moniutors on my desk right now and am getting a stand for them. I sold the 19" monitor that was above the keyboards andam probavly going to get 2 more 27" monitors and torn them 90 deg and put them side by side. Not sure. Would like a 40"+ one but can't afford it. So here are some pics. I am in the missle of getting the kitchen ready to paaint whick is where all the music equip. is. So it is a mess. But you will get the idea by the pics. Also I had the dvd nurner mountred on the keyboard rack under the top board, but you could judt get a vertically standing one and put it on the shelf and still have enough room for a mouse. A touch screen wouls be nice but are pricey for a large one. The hard drive in molunted below the M3 in an adapter box. hers you go...

Bad News...

Post by bfburkejr »

I don't have a web site and this forum won't let you paste an image file into a post, so if you want a pic you will have to send me an e-mail address. Send it to bfburkejr@ live.com I am not going to post my private e-mail address that I use for correspondence etc. on a public forum. I will check the SPAM folder etc for the next week or so. I'll send you a series of pics so you can see the whole thing as it isn't exactly put together like iot shold bve do to remodling. But you will get to see the boards and computer etc. and see where to monitor goes. I might get another 27" or 2 x 23"; 24"; or 27" monitors turned on their sides and placed next to each other. The cordless Mouse and Keyboard I use are Logitec WAVE 2.4. They are radio controlled and are good for about 30-40 ft and transmit through walls.

The Picture of my setup...

Post by bfburkejr »

I don't have a web site or a place I can post a pic on. I don't use Face book any more because iot is more of am irritant than anything else to me. SO...does any body know how to get a picture on here? I am very willing to send pics to anyone who wants them, but I need an e-mail. They are all scanned by AVG and will say so on them, so I am quite certain I won't be sending you a virus or any other nasty ware. Besides I am not that type of person. E-mail me at bfburkejr@live.com and I will send the pics from my personal e-mail that is provided to me by my ISP. If you don't really want to see them that's ok too, I just sort of hate wasting the time to have taken them for no reason. Or actually you can just hit the email button and send me a request, that goes to my personal e-mail. Please don't abuse it, thanks.
Peace,
Brian Burke

P.S. - The "shelf" I cut from the Aluminum that cam with the M3-88 that fits between the Radias and the M3 Modules is 9.375" (9 3/8") wide and was cut with a diamond saw blade on an angle grinder. Go Slow, you can heat the aluminum to the point of near melting and it will grab the blade and rip it out of your hand. The Boards are mounted on an On-Stage Platform Style KS-7150 stand with an On-Stage KSA7500 second tier.

Konponent System

Post by bfburkejr »

I think KORG realized that the Komponent System would reduce sales because people could just buy the Komponents they wanted and not have to invest in a new keybed each time. It really is too bad. I also wish they would offer a Kronos X with a 73 or 76 key synth keybed. Had they stayed withthe Komponent system they could have offered a 2 tier B3 style keyboard set up etc. Could have been a very cool thing.
