Nice little chill jam there. Thanks for posting the link. I think this is how the Pro works best for more ambient stuff.

I understand what you are saying that havingthe Pro as master means that it cannot possibly drift.... Its science right!!

I still have a theory tho, call it conspiracy theory if you like, that the Pro and KP3 internals, ie clock timing and audio loop timing are not accurate. This would lead to the audio playing drifting from their own clocks!!
Have a read on the innerclock system website. Its very interesting.

http://www.innerclocksystems.com/index.html

There is a page on it where they use a modified midi cable to convert clock clicks to audio, then examine the audio and check the sample count between clicks to determine a units accuracy.

I bet if you recorded a Pro audio output running standalone, and similtaniously recorded the clock output as audio, you would see the timing drift within the unit.

Anyways, I got a reply from Korg. They said that shouldnt happed and are looking into it. I will post the findings.

Keep up the good work Bowmoney.

Your theory is a reality. I've noticed this on many occasions when using either the arpeggio on "hold" or a drumpattern running over the top of loops. Never stays sync'd for long.

I think so. It is a real shame, as I love the units. They really suit what im trying to do live. I guess the issue lies in the OS. The units are a bit long in the tooth now, so not much chance of an OS update to fix this.

Korg if you are listening. Please add clock stop / start , and write the sync code thats in your current Electribes into the next gen Kaoss pads :)

makes sense to me...there are definitely issues between machines, and they seem more pronounced for the kpro than for others...i think the kpro really excels when it is just on it's own or part of a very simple rig
