But for trying out the sounds, you could just unload the Preload completely.
Looks like I am a guy who wants to have it all at the same time.
If all your loading is the PRELOAD.KSC your already missing out on a lot of sounds already inside your KRONOS.
I just bought it and I'm blown away by many of the vocal sounds, but I have the same problem--short about 65 mb RAM. How does one delete the Japanese Piano to free up RAM?

I have to confess: I don't have a clue what you are talking about!?
Do you talk about the other sounds I can buy or only about such that are available with a stock Kronos? Don't answer yes please.
BasariStudios wrote:Yes, he is talking about more Stock Kronos Sounds that are on the HD.
Because I am on a vacation with my family, I can not go to my lovely Kronos and look for these sounds myself. Any luck that you enlighten me in what KSC I can find them?

Hi Saxifraga
The extra sounds that Sharp is referring to you can find on the Kronos HDD, Factory Subdirectory, Subdirectory Exs_extras, e.g
Exs3 BrassWoodwinds
There's some more in Exs4 Vintage Keyboards, and Exs2 Concert Piano, but Exs3 is the one you should explore first. There's additional 2 additional Program banks and 1 full Combi Bank based on Exs3.
Really worth loading

Thank you! I totaly missed that.
But where do I put those Programms? All banks are full by now.
Have to discard some I don't use that often.
Sharp wrote:Hi Kronik.
Every single program sound has been reworked greatly to make better use of HD-1, filters and controllers. I also mapped every single sound to make use of the Drum Track function which is something the original edition never had. The Sample data is not the exact same either. Some data was removed, some replaced, some updated. The images of the categories are even displayed on the KRONOS now.
If you have the original version it's still a mighty library and you have something pretty darn close to EXs90. Why not install the demo and compare A to B.

Hi Sharp, I have listened extensively to your "Oasys Assault" program demos on your recording web site one by one. I REALLY would like those sounds for my Kronos. I am afraid this current version (Kronos) would not sound the same as the demos I listened to on your site under the Oasys sound engine. I keep reading where you "removed, replaced, or updated" critical data that would make the 2 libraries sound quite a bit different from each other? What caused such data having to be "changed"? BTW, some of those patches I auditioned are the most beautiful I have ever heard on any synth. Any help to quell my worries ?
I agree with all the comments about the new pack, from the demo's it sounds great, however one comment would it not be possible to include some sort of instal instruction with the demo download. It would be of great benefit to people like me who are relatively new to the Korg OS.
Hi Synthmandan.
The OASYS and KRONOS are very different keyboards. The OASYS for example is a lot weaker when it comes to Piano sounds, where the KRONOS is pretty much bullet proof.
So, I removed all the Piano content and Trumpet samples from KRONOS ASSAULT as it is utterly pointless including content the KRONOS already does extremely well. Doing this also allowed me to replace those sounds with even more Vocal and other worldly content which is ultimately the main type of sounds that draws people towards the library in the first place.
In addition to that, I then took the opportunity to rework all the programs, integrating them even more into the KRONOS. The OASYS does not have a “Drum Track” function at all, so I reworked every single sound so that on the KRONOS you can press that Drum Track button and it will work.
The KRONOS also has the ability to display a graphics instead of the multisample names. This is also a function the OASYS doesn't have, so I updated every program sound so the KRONOS can display it's graphics, or you can switch them off. Before this work was done, you had no choice, the graphics simply wouldn't display at all.
I spent a lot of time working on making better and more refined use of the actual controllers on the KRONOS. Ribbon, Knobs, KARMA, it's all been polished and tweaked to give you even more.
So bottom line.... OASYS vs KRONOS Edition.
1: KRONOS edition gives you even more Vocal and Other Worldly sounds.
2: KRONOS ASSAULT Drum Track function works, where the OASYS doesn’t have this at all.
3: KRONOS edition can display graphics where the Multisamples are, OASYS can't.
4: KRONOS edition has far better refined controllers assigned to every sound.
5: KRONOS edition has reworked PCM data for better loops.
If you have any questions, please feel free to ask.

The instructions for installing an EXs are on page 855 of the Parameter Guide. If there is any part of this you need help with, just let me know. I'd be happy to help.
That said, I will record a video on how to do this anyway. I'm sure it would be helpful and interesting either way for people.
Many thanks for the quick response. To be honest I've not looked at the parameter guide as yet. 855 pages gosh that is some guide, but yet again it's some KB.
I'm sure the video would be useful and maybe even encourage other to buy the pack.
I finally got to the video description of unloading the Japanese grand and merging the KSCs, and it was really helpful. Thank you very much for taking the time to make it!
