My SECOND Kaossilator 2 isn't working anymore.
Doesn't turn on, blips the red power light when I hold the power button and that's it. As if the batteries were dead, even though they are brand new.
Same problem I had with my first one a couple months ago, and I take good care of these devices.
Absolutely ridiculous. Garbage hardware. Why even bother putting so much time into the software/marketing/distribution if they are so defective?
Completely turned off by all Korg products because of this crap.

I see you're in Canada. Anywhere near a Long & McQuade? They're damn good for sending stuff back to the manufacturer and getting it fixed (even if you didn't buy from them)

please don't tell me you put the same batteries from the first one into the second one...if so, i'd say your batteries aren't charging

Of course, I've tried ALL types of batteries. Rechargable, regular Duracells, Lithiums.
Cannot believe they would send stuff like this out.
If out of the total number of all manufactured KO-2s, I happened to get two with the same problem.. I can only imagine how many other people this has happened to.
Thanks for the Long and Mcquaide reference, I'll check em out.

Long & McQuade is a Canadian musician's best friend. Still privately owned by the titular duo, and *extremely* dedicated to helping musicians even in lieue of making as much money as they maybe could. Go in with your busted KO2 and they'll treat you the same as someone looking to buy $50,000 worth of gear.
I always sound like a paid shill when I talk about them but, seriously, that place rules.

Have you ensured that your battery selector is set correctly for the type of battery you are using.
I noticed if the selector is set to Alkaline and you put NiMH rechargeables in, the KO2 won't start. I've not tried the reverse, but since there's a significant voltage difference between the two types, it wouldn't surprise me if the reverse is also true. Also, I'd avoid using NiCd or LiIon batteries for the same reason.
I've found my KO2 to be quite resilient, even dealing with getting reverse polarity from my AC adapter without complaint.
If you need to change the battery setting, but can't get the thing to boot to do it, use the AC adaptor to start it and reselect the battery setting.

Re: My SECOND Kaossilator 2 isn't working anymore.
Hi to all here,
TheoW593, I wonder if it might be the batteries? What do you think? Have you tried it with new ones?.... Okay just joking.
My K02 had to be returned twice over 12 months to have the switch re-soldered. Suddenly stopped powering up. But the third time the dealer wasn't that helpful, since the warrantee was out.
Korg repairs are guaranteed for 3 months, apparently. But Korg UK said to return it and they'll fix it, no problem. After inspecting my K02, they sent me a brand new one.
Won't be selling the new one, but would agree about the build quality compared with its predecessor.
* Advice to my future self: When buying another new Kaossilator: 1. Buy from a local shop. 2. Buy the expanded warranty. 3. And, why are you still wearing the same trousers?
happy regards

My KO2 doesn't boot
Hello, I bought 2 years ago, a KO2. He suddenly turned off and no restarts. I tried keystrokes stop reset but does not turn over. It is the first time a Korg product fails me. I'll take a Importmusic arg. for review and see if it solves.
