Just got my KP3.
I have two MAJOR issues with it.
Only using a iphone, KP3, and a computer.
Regardless of if I'm using the mic in/headphoneout or the line in/out my audio craps the bed after a couple of seconds of playing.
Exp 1: without using any audio input (only output) I turn it to Synth2 and tap the pad and it sounds fine. If I place my finger in one (any) spot and hold it there the synth keeps playing for about 5 seconds and then it breaks up a little and the volume is reduced by half and it breaks up some more. If I let go and then touch it again it is back to normal.. for about 5 more seconds until it does it again. It also does this to effects when in the same way when I play along with a track on my iphone.
Exp 2: This time I'll play a track from my phone and just mess around with different effects. At seemingly random times the audio breaks up a little and the volume drops about halfway, just like in example one. this time the only way to bring it back up is to pull out either the input or output (be it mic/phones or the RCAs). Once I plug them back in it sounds better but still not like when it first starts to play.
It kind of sucks because I sold a gun for well under its value to get this thing and its crap right out of the box. I have the minikp and love it and have never had an issue out of it. Same goes for my nano kontrol and nano pad.
Any thoughts or ideas would be greatly appreciated.
I have already emailed a video of the defect to Korg. Just waiting for a reply.
Thanks guys
Jason

Have you updated the OS to 2.0?
I don't know if that'll help, but it's worth a shot. What you're describing /sounds/ like a defect - and not just a simple loose wire in the output jack or something if it's happening with BOTH outputs. If you're lucky, it'll turn out to be a software defect, and the update will fix it :)
But yeah posting the video might be good - the KP3 does lots of weird / somewhat-stupid things, and I think a lot of us have worried ours was defective at some point, then discovered we were just doing some random thing wrong...
