Compressor or equalizer for M3?

Post by wongykin »

Hi,

The problem I face is that the variations in volume and EQ balance for each combi sound are quite large. No matter how I pre-set it for stage performance, the sounds still vary for different PA systems and speakers on stage.

Does Korg M3 synthesizer need a compressor or equalizer during stage performance?

Thanks for your help! :)

Yes, it's simplest to run the master output through a dedicate Compressor...

Why not using the compressor in the M3 itself?
Or don't you want to lose the MFX or TFX?

Thanks for your suggestion! As there will be a lot of combi sound changes during stage performance, normally around 6-10 changes in one song, I want all the sounds have a even volume output.

I am not sure if i have to set all the combi sounds each with MFX in order to obtain a better evenly volume output, would it be alright and even do not need to buy an extra compressor?

Thanks!!

Sequencer

Post by hammondcuni »

Not sure on combi mode but in sequencer mode ,to keep consistant volumes and overall sound mix, just mix a song to your taste and then create a template. So now every time you make a song just call up template and your songs will be exactly the same as in volumes etc..
Hope this helps.

You probably need to change every combi (to add the compressor), buying one might be quicker.
