there is an "mp3" button on miniKP2 also)

616 = Stereo Recorder -> MR2000SBK

don't like second's... originals are much cooler, imho, especially because of metal part of chassis)

If you look at the bottom of the screen on both...
I think the +/- slide area is for selecting the program number.

my guess is that it is used for up and down navigation as well as a fader, between two sets of infinite track loops a la the sound on sound on the yellow one and for fading effects in and out on the red one

More thoughts and observations:

If you look closely at the top right corner of the display, you can see that the first bank is selected. THat means there are at least 2 different sound banks on the Kaossilator 2

Volume is on the right side (the longish button). I am hoping this is not like those remote buttons that have two discrete buttons with one plastic housing...these tend to break or wear down pretty quickly. Dial is better, imo.

Is it me or does this look too much like an mp3 player from the early 2000s? Take a look and you'll agree:
http://anythingbutipod.com/2008/03/10th ... p3-player/
Reminds me of the "sports" style audio devices that used to be in vogue...maybe its the perforated black surface against the yellow?

Im guessing those bars at the bottom of the screen indicate the beat position. Maybe thats for the left one, since theres 8 subdivisions. The one on the right with 4....maybe those are sample banks or even extended beat positions for 16, 32, and 64? Now that would be nice.

And there must be a least a few other tricks up their sleeves. You have to remember, Korg doesn't want to just target new users. They want to add features that will draw in us existing users of the original kaossilators.

i bet it records 32 beats, 4 sets of 8 and that is what the counters are for...i would be really happy if the slide area was a dicer or something

Don't like the curvy design either. I play mine flat on a surface next to all the other stuff. I can see that fella slipping about like a bar of soap when I get excited.

Anyway, nice to see the gate/arps are back, but haven't seen the answer to the BIG question: HOW LONG ARE THE LOOPS? 16? 32? More?

Ohhhh...I'll probably get one then...

Still no word on the loop length though, or have I missed it? At 1.44, it gives the choices of 8 beats and 4 beats. Surely there must be 16 at least?
