Sharp, please allow me to correct my statment, people where being ignored.

Mon Nov 21, 2011 7:52 pm, this is the statment date. And i will quote R. Formadoni:Korg is now very aware of the problems, we have seen the videos and the problems directly...
My unit is in a repair center since 21/10/2011 and they are still waiting for an answer from korg, i started to check this forum even before i got the keyboard and already they where many situacions reported. I believe korg was aware of problems long before that ,but being a company i think it's just poor publicity for them to admit it... You may think i have the intent of bashing korg becouse i have a broken unit, but that is not the case, my hope is to show some amount of insatisfaction with the service and the way things where handled. I have done that through proper channels but i think it's fair to also do it here since this is a forum for korg users that is also used by korg employes as means of comunication. Maybe it wont change anything, but maybe just maybe it will contribute some how as a feedback for korg to consider. This being said i'm done talking about my problems here, i already got a thread locked and my intent was never to ofend anyone nor to bash korg. If i have one frustracion is not having my kronos, and worse not knowing when i will have it. Peace.

My new Kronos 88 has the cutoff problem

Post by musicman50 »

Hi,
I just received my new Kronos today and it has the note cutoff problem. It mostly seems to occur in the C-E notes 2 octaves below middle C and is effected by technique. It appears the key bounces slightly and then the note cuts off. If I keep it from bouncing, then the note doesn't cut off.

Musicman50 i think it's an hardware problem but i'm not a tech and much less i presume of knowing if that is what happens with your unit. Anyways
the 1.5 OS update became available tonight at korg website, you can update your unit, it cant hurt to have the most updated Os then play for a while if the problem remains i advise to contact your a korg repair center.

Also if it realy is a hardware problem rest assured korg is already on it and a solution should be available mid December.

Hope this help's.

Best of luck with your Kronos.

I was just on their website and saw nothing about the OS 1.5 update other than the same old "Mid October of 2011" announcement.
Do you have a link to where you saw this?

I'd be interested to know what you guys think about the update. Are double strikes no longer an issue?

From my (very) short testing... I still see, and feel, the key beneath my fingers as it double-strikes, but I don't hear the cutoff anymore. I'm not sure if that's wishful thinking (its late and its been a long day) or if they've really done something about it.

so perhaps the bandaid has stuck, that's a good sign

Not so sure about that... I swear I've heard a couple of cutoffs, not as frequently but still there...

Cutoffs are not addressed in 1.5 as stated per Korg, which said to please wait for them to address the cut-off issue.

Still hear note cutoffs

Post by musicman50 »

I have installed the 1.5 system update and I still hear the cutoffs. At first I thought it wasn't as often, but now I'm not so sure. Since I just got my Kronos and I hadn't played it much before the update, I'm not sure if things have gotten better or it's just wishful thinking and my lack of experience with the Kronos. In any case I still get the cutoff notes.
Funny thing is a friend of mine has a Kronos 88 and I don't remember his keyboard having the notes cutoff and playing his was one of the things that convinced me to buy my own Kronos. Now I'm not so sure that was a wise decision. Next time I play his Kronos, I will have to listen more carefully.
