I would bet you will need to buy a new Pa...just a guess that Korg is done on the PA800/PA2CPRO.

Sounds en Styles matching Tyros4

Post by Sanjai »

Hoi Guys,

Just want to say it would be nice if Korg did a upgrade that the sound en style quality would match the Yamaha Tyros 3 or 4.

Hello everyone. I ask if anyone knows if the guys of Korg plan to upgrade the PA800 operating system to version 3.0 . The truth is that the DNC sounds, among other things, have lagged far behind compared to the Tyros 4 and Audya 5.

Hi OmiG

Korg's answer would almost certainly be "PA3X" - I cannot imagine that Korg will be spending effort on discontinued models. But of course, this is my "guess" - I don't know for sure.
To be fair, you really should be "comparing" the Tyros 4 with the PA3X, not its predecessor. I doubt that Korg would bring the PA800/PA2X up-to-date with the current models - it would serve no purpose for them.

Personally, I prefer DNC to SA2 - at least you have control on the Korg (e.g. SA2 sax has uncontrollable glides).

Cheers

PLC = Product Life Cycle ...

http://www.netmba.com/marketing/product/lifecycle/

Question: What impact to profitability is there by increasing brand/product loyalty?

I think OS updates to the older PA keyboards surely would enhance the saleability of the new product line.

I don´t understand if PA800 is a discontinued model, why they offer it in Korg website?

I know this has been discussed before...but I really need a ram upgrade to 256mb. I have sets with killer samples and the 64 mb just doesn't do it. I can't afford to buy a pa2x or the pa3x at the moment.

new os on the pa3x

Post by duby2 »

korg is tell us pa800 and pa2x people , if you want a new just buy a new pa3x ..
right now the pa800 and pa2x are not obsolete because korg still has not sold all the keyboard that are sitting in stores , once all the keyboard are sold ,, then you will see on korg web site ,,obsolete, ancient, antiquated, antique, archaic, , old, old-fashioned, passé, primeval,
yes I and wait for the new os also ,, oh how long has it been so far ?
I will wait for the  recall ....

Discontinued - I mean "no longer manufactured":-
Those keyboards are still supported but I doubt Korg are manufacturing them any more - hence discontinued. By "supported" I would hope that parts will remain available but probably not OS updates. I do not believe your distributor would be able to order a new PA2Xpro or PA800 from Italy any more.
True - there may be models in the shops for a while yet - locally, there was a new PA1XPro Elite well after it was discontinued.

Cheers
