How do you Restore Data, without a DVD drive in Kronos?

I think you'd want the DVD/CD burner for other Kronos tasks, instead of just restoring.

This is what i was thinking also. I may be wrong but was hoping that an upgraded procedure to the M3 was would be available.. thanks.

You wont be able to get access to the OS code let me assure you !!! You'll be able to drag and drop samples/Sound banks etc etc for sure

Didn't you receive the complimentary M3's 3.0 upgrade DVD?

But I had a little trouble running it on USB-1 external DVD players.

The reference Guide contained in the DVD says that the DVD contains drivers for EVERY existing DVD player.

But darn, I can't access them until I can run the DVD...

That is true, but the way a lot of devices work is that if you place a file with the right name, in the right location, and restart the device, it will patch the OS. In any event, I am sure there will be more than one way to perform this.

1. Put DVD in computer (you have one, right?)
2. Move files to USB stick.
3. Insert in Kronos.
4. Global mode has "Update OS" or something like that (I'm not in front of it...)

If correct files are found on USB stick, update proceeds.

Factory preload data is already on the HD; you can restore it anytime you want.

What's wrong with this question?
It took two pages of helpful replies to get a logical and final answer, that an external usb - DVD drive is "NOT" necessary if you don't want.

I don't claim to have all the answers, and you seem to have a problem with that?

Thanks for the reply, sorry for what may have been a repeated question.
I thought that maybe there was an updated procedure to the M3 and it appears that there is, now that a Kronos usb folder appears on your desktop, unlike the M3.. Peace.
