I have one and love it. Mind you, it's my first synth, so I have no past experience except for playing on friends (M1) or at my local music shop.

Here's the forum dedicated to it:http://www.venomsynth.com/forums/

It's really new, but you can see some of what the users are dealing with. I personally am in love with my Venom and have been having a blast with just the presets so far. Once I hook her up to my new PC I'm about to get, I'm sure it'll open up so much more!

Here's some jam videos with mine and the ESX if you're interested:

Based on your sig gear list, the Venom ain't gonna give you anything that you can't already do with the R3 and SH-201. Instead of getting a 3rd VA, maybe you should branch out into other kinds of synthesis, like with a Z1 or sampler workstation like the Triton Extreme. The Venom isn't really all that good compared to the R3/Radias. It has a very weak set of waveforms for the oscillators, and the effects types on the R3/Radias are much better. The Venom is just a slightly improved Ion/Micron engine, which was outdated 5+ years ago. Even the MicroKorg has better and many more waveform types than the Venom.

I just sold my SH-201 yesterday so I am looking to fill the gap. I have just about every soft synth there is so I am good for something digital and sampled. I messed around with the Venom at SamAsh it was decent sounding from what I remember but not worth the $600 price tag. Now Nova Musik has them for $419 which made me rethink my decision. I guess I can go back to SamAsh and mess with it for a bit and gather a real answer myself. Just wanted to know some opinions really. All have been taken in.

If all else fails I will get the CS1/2x, AN1x, or maybe sell my R3 and get the Radias.

The Z1 has an excellent aftertouch keybed and XY pad, along with a unique set of physical model sounds. It works fine to control racks like a Radias. I certainly prefer it instead of the Radias keybed.

Nice idea, I never thought of that.
My local music shop had a Z1 dirt cheap for a while but it disappeared before I had the money.
