Ipad/Ims20 with microsampler usb?

I have a mcrosampler but not an Ipad yet.
I am confused. The Ipad has a usb port?
So theoretically you could plug in the microsampler via the ipad usb port
and play the ims20 and other ipad mdi apps with it?
Has anyone done this yet?
I understand that of course you should be able to use a microsampler with the ipad ms20 ect via midi from the microsampler into the ipad using the
line6 midimizer interface..
BTW I also have a korg microkontrol keys that has usb out i wish to use with an ipad as above..anyone done this?
