EA-1 Audio In (HELP! NOT WORKING)

Post by elektrasoul »

so, im having a problem with the audio in on my ea-1.

when i take a line out from my soundcard in to the ea-1 i cannot hear anything until i press the audio in through button.

ive tried numerous sound sources and cables/connectors but i cannot use the fiter at all!

there must be something simple that im missing. any ideas?

you need to either use Audio In (in which case you can always hear the audio input) or you need to use the audio input as the Oscillator source for Part 1 (in which case you hear it when Part 1 is sequenced to play)

so it seems that i need to have something sequenced through the unit rather than just using it as an external effects unit?

i dont want to start sequencing with this thing as i use cubase.

do i need to leave some midi tracks playing through the ea-1? wont this have some strange results to the sound source entering the audio in? would the midi notes act as a gate to the audio in?

yes

you don't need to use the Electribe's own sequencer, but you do need to have notes playing for the audio input to go through the filters

yes, the midi notes act as a gate

as I said at that link:
P-of-M wrote: If your pattern is 16 steps long, you can put a note on step 1 and edit its gate time to 16.0, i.e. the note on step 1 will last for 16 steps, i.e. the whole pattern.
That uses a single note event, which last 16 steps, so that the audio input sounds constantly
