Moving a song from a Classis to a Rack gets me 'No Data'

Post by silcreval »

I have several songs that are saved from a Triton classic that
I'd like to play on a Triton rack.

I've read the manuals, and FAQs but stil cant seem to make it
work.

Basically, I save everything from the Classic to the Disk including
songs. On the Rack I load everything, and also load the SNG just
to be doubly sure.

If I click on 'MULTI' on the rack - I see the songs and the settings
look correct.

If I then click on DEMO/SNG and UTILITY, and Copy from Multi,
the Rack thinks about things for a few seconds then I get the message
'No Data'

Is there something I'm missing?

Thanks!

You could be missing that there is no Sequencer on the Rack. iirc. As I recall, Multi mode replaced Song/Sequencer mode on the rack. So the rack will load the song settings, but not the actual notes, perhaps...

There is a sequencer of sorts - it's what plays the Demo Song. You
can load song files from EXB-PCM sets and it will play a demo.

According to the manual though, you can convert a Multi to a
'song' by pressing the DEMO/SNG button, then selecting
"Copy from Multi". This will then put the sequencer contents into
the 'demo song' storage.

by doing a little research around the www it seems that you cannot load songs on triton rack. You can load your sequencer data to multis for the part of program, effect, etc. data, but you can't load your notes, cc events etc. from your sequencer :/ so either you'll have to use triton classic for sequences or use triton rack as a sound source and use some external sequencer.

Might be that I'm mistaken, but unfortunately this is how it seems to be...
