hello everybody...... I am sure there are keyboardists in this forum who are in their 40's!!!! Do you remember the sounds of symphonic rock? I am a fan of early genesis music, and love to have decent mellotron sounds, especially the choir voices and maybe cello sounds as well.
Anyone knows of decent mellotron sampled sounds for use with Troton classic?
The only other option would be to purchase a digital mellotron ( the vintage analogue ones are so expensive and cumbersome to transport).
Thanks for any replies
Pierre
I can tell you KORG have some of their own samples which are great. You'll want to get the EXB-PCM05 'Vintage Archives' expansion board.
The PCB board has the samples on it, and the floppy disk it comes with has the programs that use those samples, although you may want to make some of your own that are more prog friendly. Or maybe I'll send you mine!
Off the top of my head, it has:
mellotron strings
mellotron flute
mellotron mixed choir
vocoder choir
I've made some great 'watcher of the skies' programs as well as more traditional strings/flute sounds and even a kraftwerk-esque optron choir sound, etc. all using the samples on EXB-PCM05. The samples have been looped, so in a lot of my programs I've spend time tuning the envelope to cut out after a certain number of seconds, use effects to add noise and compression and saturation back in, etc.

Thanks X-Trade.... now that was quick!!! I have to check if i can add further expansion boards as i already have EXB-03 and EXB-MOSS added. My classic triton is one of the first models (2001).
But I will definitely check for the EXB-05 on ebay or other stores abroad (I live in malta..... a small island which has it's limitations in purchasing soft/ hardware).
If I purchase EXB-05, Ill definitely get back to you. Thanks for the tip and your offer.
Best regards
