contrast stuck on full brightness

Post by d.watson08 »

One of the schools triton pro classic's has a problem with the screen. The contrast is stuck on full brightness making it too bright to read the screen.

I've tried the contrast rotary on the back panel and nothing happens.

Any ideas?

Maybe your backlight is fixing to go out?

Or the rotary control is not working properly. It might have a loose wire or is dirty. Try squirting a good amount of contact cleaner around it, and if you can, open the case and look at the wires or cold solder points.

If the screen is bright, it might not be the backlighting.

ye I don't think it is a backlight problem. It's the writing etc that isn't bright enough.

I've taken it apart and the soilder looked ok. The pot was slightly dirty but I won't have time to test it just yet... I will let you know asap what happens!

thanks for the replies

ye the screen is fixed now, i think a combination of dirt and a loose wire connection was the problem!

thanks for the advice
