Painting a Triton?

Post by newtoKORG »

I'm considering having a friend of mine do a custom paint job on my pro-x. Are there any dangers to this? any reason not to? Would I look like a major douche bag or would it be cool? input is appreciated.

I've seen it done, there's a picture of a Triton Studio painted a nice glossy red, but that was done professionally. Make sure you use the right kind of paint or you'll end up w/ a tacky/sticky finish. and good luck with painting new print next to your buttons and such. if your friend is really good at this, it has potential in turning out pretty good... but if he's not... yeah you're gonna look like a douche bag :P

i'll see if i can find the photo of that Triton Studio painted red

That's too cool! If I were to do it I would leave the main finish silver and paint the trim... :)

That's really cool...I was thinking go all out and have a sweet psychedelic paint job. Any idea what kind of paint to use? And Mchale, I'm planning on keeping track, and even if I don't remember ALL of them, the crucial ones are straightforward and everything is in the manual. I'm gonna label everything when I'm done though.

i should also note that those pictures... that's a professional paint job, that company mostly does stuff like electribes and modules like that, that triton's the only keyboard on the whole site full of hundreds of pictures. you'll want to take those panels off the triton when you do it. it's a big job!
