MicroX - need HELP to re-load factory presets

Post by MJE »

My Micro X seems to have lost factory presets...and the LCD screen is going. I am aware that I could reload...by starting up/pressing on, while holding EXIT and PAGE+ keys. However it just goes to first combo bank after that.....which is (initalcombo)

Any tricks I should be trying here? I use the editor on windows as well and have tried restore data. I am fearful Micro X has lost its backup factory presets altogether.

BTW - its hard for me to see lcd screen...if you have idea - please type in what I should push and when etc.

IS THERE A PRESET DOWNLOAD THAT I COULD SYSEX IN FROM MY COMPUTER TO RESTORE IT??

Thanks!!!!

Hello

What is exactly the message you receive in your editor when you try to reload the factory preset ?

Make sure that your MicroX keyboard is set up, in GLOBAL mode page 1, to receive eveything : MIDI filter , exclusive messages etc...

When you open the editor, does it recognize and load the data from your keyboard ? If not, it is sometimes a connecting problem. So, check your USB-MIDI input, eventually change the cable so that you'll be sure this is not that basic problem.

Also, read the editor booklet pages 8, 9 and 29.

But, whatever with the editor, the fact that following the instruction of the manual you can't reload all presets sounds really weird ... Did you turn your internal memory OFF before trying the manip ? (operation guide page 88) You must do that before reloading, otherwise the machine won't take it. Then, choose to reload ALL.

By the way, go to page 113 of this same operation guide to follow the restoring factory settings procedure, which is not the one you seem to be following. There is no way the system you tried to use could work ...

In case you don't have the operating manual, follow this link :

Thanks - I took it into korg service center. Bad board. They say Korg no longer making the main board replacement. So - they re-loaded the presets...but no display. I use the pc edit program.
thanks though
