If you travel, don't expect to buy from Sweetwater Sound

Rarely do I Dis a vendor. I usually just don't buy from them again. I take exception in this case.

I travel for my business around 300 days a year. I run a personal care company and chose to be on the road most of the time, so I have a great deal of products shipped to me while in different parts of the world. In my business we ship thousands of order a year to end users and businesses in over 20 countries.

My hobby is music and I was thrilled to get my own Korg M3 a few months ago. Recently I was excited to learn about the Radias EXB expansion board and Stephen Kay's M3 software. So, I ordered the EXB with a business credit card through the online store at Sweetwater. Later, I received a call saying that I had to call my credit card company and have my temporary shipping address added to an approve address list. I thought that this must be something new, so I actually called my MasterCard. They told me that they do not keep a record of shipping addresses. I called the individual back at Sweetwater and he basically acused me of fraud. I thought, well maybe I misunderstood until I received the following email.

You be the judge....

Bob,

Your order has been cancelled. You must understand that we ship anywhere from $500,000 to $1 million every single day. It's very common to add a shipping address as an alternate (hundreds of orders per day). It's an instant change and you're the first person I've come across that has had a problem with it (with the exception of a few confirmed fraud cases). By doing this, we stop over $12 million
in credit card fraud every year. It protects us and it protects you.
I'm sorry you found it to be an inconvenience, but I'm surprised, as a business owner and the current amount of credit card fraud, you're not aware of this and utilizing it with your own business.

People come back to Sweetwater because we're experts and because we take care of our customers in many ways. I'm sorry you won't get the chance to experience what buying here is all about.

As a business owner, we require a signature for very expensive orders. This is the method we use to assure that the correct person is ordering. In our business, we assume people are good. Obviously Sweetwater assumes we are all bad with an occasional exception

I was able to order my $300 Radias board from another company and they are shipping it to me at my temporary address.
