KP2 loss of effect output...

Post by TheFlamingHips »

Hey all.. I have had my KP2 for a couple of years now and used it live A LOT.. I feed my vocals through it at shows..

Anyway, just recently, out of the blue one of my favorite effects the filter delay has lost just about all effect output. I can barely hear the effect, where as it used to get louder and louder and feedback on it self now the effect return level is heaps lower.. the delay quickly disappears.

I have tried the FX depth and input levels.. nothing..

Any thoughts on how I can fix this? I took it in for repairs to a 'korg specialist' here in Sydney, Australia and they said they didn't know how to fix it.. I have given it a factory 'hard re-set' but nothing, the effect is still very low. It's happened to one of the sample effects (forward-reverse) too.

Any help??!!!!

cheers

Epic Bump...

I have the same problem with my KP2. I bought it used and it worked like a charm when I first bought it. While I was playing with it, the live looper effect (60) lost effect output volume. Sometimes it comes back, but playing with the depth knob does nothing as it maxes out at about the 12 oclock position. It's really strange. Sometimes switching to a different quick load set then coming back fixes, but not always. Strange problem as it feels like a software problem, not hardware...?

I refuse to believe NO ONE ELSE has had this problem with the KP2...

Maybe KP2 users just don't visit this forum... :(

frankly, this forum is a pretty awful place to fix technical issues with an older piece of equipment.(not trying to discourage that, but it's just pretty much impossible) without having your specific KP2 in hand, there's no way i can know what is wrong with it... loose connection somewhere? damaged something or other??

korg customer support would probably tell you nothing.... but they're a better chance than here.
