Post by rompling »

Reading through this forum whilst I`m away and the N.I forum it seems to be a common theme- problems with .tks midi map files and different mixers Including (zero series mixers)
It would be a very good community spirted thing if we can share are traktor .tks midi map files on this site OR am I just being lazy
When i get home next week will put mine up

As soon as 1.03 of Traktor Pro is released, I'll be putting up my .tsi, Korg Zero Edit settings and Bome's MIDI translator files (so the rotaries work as intended) online - I've got some fairly special stuff set up if you can wait 'til then :)

Hi Rufus!
Have you made any progress on your project for Traktor and the Zero8?

Dont worry I worked it all out today ;)
This is such a mean piece of kit! The ability to customize a setup like this is so awesome :)

does anyone know if this rotaries issue in traktor pro has been addressed yet........i still cannot get them to work in the decks or the library with the updated demo version.......i have a problem with supporting/relying on a company (NI) that seems to have no intention of addressing or fixing or taking responsibility for their product not doing what it says in the manual......
perhaps some of this comes from dealing with korg on the zero8 issues.......

although the features are what i need, not sure i want to purchase traktor software that requires a third party's beta version(mac) software to work basic functions before i can even demo it?
funny how everything works well in ableton, is this an issue with the zero8 rotaries?
wish ableton had more dj friendly track viewing and library funtions........

I have no such issues with the rotaries on the Zero8. They work however i want then to...

What is the "issue"?

when the rotaries are assigned in to a midi function in traktor pro,
they don't move the same amount in both directions,
almost impossible to search in a track or in the library
as described here........http://www.native-instruments.com/forum ... hp?t=76009

and rufuswhite has discovered a workaround
described here.......http://www.nativeinstruments.de/forum_u ... workaround

all rotary implementation works perfect in live, so i suspect it is a problem with the new version of traktor
and because i don't own it already, it seems strange to buy it when it won't work basic functions properly with my....."traktor certified" zero8

not to complain,
just frustrated with the process of evolution in technology.....
that seems to be gauged to something else other than the end user.

the structure of the corporate mentality also has its benefits i suppose,
i am happy to work for one......

OK, thanks Jayray.

hmmm...I got the rotaries to work ok and tweaked with the settings like response etc to get it pretty right.
I actually use the rotaries for changing the loop length and it is even either way, but, in track seek mode it does go forward faster than back...but I thought that was Traktor and quite normal....I actually think its OK to do this...Fast forward then fine back to the point where you want it to play from etc.

I will look at the link you provided thanks ;)

perhaps traktor is supposed to do this in track seek.........
although it is impossible when using rotaries for the library or efx....it acts the same way
i hope to get a live person on the phone from NI to trouble shoot,
and be sure its not just me (and others in the forums) doing something wrong with this traktor certified mixer

i also have this unresolved issue with the zero8 (as far as i know all units are like this)
as confusing as it is here is the link......http://www.korgforums.com/forum/phpBB2/ ... highlight=

it has been over a year after replicating the issue over the phone with the canadian korg rep, and still no response (other than an xmas card email)
i still enjoy this piece of gear for what it does do, just feel ripped off as an early purchaser......
and no support or acknowledgment from the company in regards to this
and other well known "mistakes" in design, so close to perfection,
but a common price for "evolution within corporate mentality" lol
