Does the Korg M3R sound module have all the sounds in it that the Korg i30 keyboard does?
I have used my Korg i30 as a sound module with Band-In-A-Box controlling it... and it sounds great! Will the M3R sound about the same? Does it have all the sounds?
Thanks for any help.
Does the Korg M3R sound module have all the i30 sounds ?

Hi Mel
I do not have an M3R but here's what I found:-
The M3R is a rack mount sound module that features the built-in Al Synthesis
system for full digital generation and processing of the sound throughout the
four sections of the instrument :from the high-quality PCM sound source, to the
Variable Digital Filter (VDF) and Variable Digital Amplifier (VDA), and onto the
dual-system digital multi-effects. For the most part, the M3R boasts the same
high-quality sounds for which the M1 and M1R are famous. Since the M3R has
exclusive sound data built in however, it has its own unique sonic
characteristics.
The AI Synthesis is not quite the same synthesis as the i30 which has AI2 synthesis, but it will also depend on how the sounds and multisamples have been configured.
If possible, the best solution for you is to actually try one (I said "if possible...") or at least compare the sounds list in the documentation with the i30 sounds.
Good luck
Pete
