Volume Control?

Post by musicaviat »

Hey,

For you who have persian styles you know what I am talking about. All the styles and each of the individual tracks are up at volume "127"

Is there anyway where you can bring the volume down to 100 as a preset for all of the tracks? Or is there simply a way to set up the PA800 so that the Drum/Perc as well as the Acmp is always locked on 100 regardless of which style?

The reason I ask is because I tried editing each of the tracks in the record mode by setting them to 100 but then when i saved them, changed styles, and then went back to the style I saved... the volume went back up to 127.

I am trying to get some pads to work using original voices from the PA800 and you can't hear them simply because the Style is too loud.

Any help would be appreciated

Volume changes are saved globally for all of the style elements in style mode. You can save them under "save as style pref." i believe. It makes sense because you can control individual tracks in real time on the stage where you can't stop the style from running and go to record mode..etc...you can apply and save expression changes to each track independent from other elements in the record mode which is very neat.

As far as those super loud sets....
when i was learning how to make my own styles few months ago, i downloaded a few sets, and i had no idea how loud the style was. The volume was not even half way and it almost blew up the speakers. Every style had its own loudness. You better stay away from those things man. Another stupid thing was the amount of user sounds that one style was using. some times the drum kit was changing on every fill and Var for no reason at all. I couldn't get rid of them fast enough!

Edit: I think it's a good idea to keep the loudness of user styles near the factory ones, or at least be consistent with it on every user style, so when you move from one to another you won't experience that explosive effect...
