I new to recording and I'm at the point where I need to learn how to work with drum software to add drums to my song. Looks like I will be using Superior Drummer 2.0 or Addictive Drums as my programs. I think I will be listening to grooves and seeing if I can find ones that fit my song and going from there.
But I guess a person can also "program" his own drums using these programs. And I guess using a pad controller makes it a little easier. Is it necessary to install all the software that comes with the PadKontrol? Or can you just install the drivers and that would be all you really need? Like if I'm only going to be using the PadKontrol with my Superior Drummer 2.0, can I just install the drivers and the Editor/Librarian software?
I would not be using the PadKontrol with any external MIDI instrument. So I would rather not install software that I don't need.
Please advise.

Some general questions about the PadKontrol
Hi!
You are correct, that as long as you can get the midi events into your computer to use with other software, the demo stuff that comes with the KPK is superfluous... If you are using the MIDI ports on the KPK, you don't need to load anything... but if you are using the USB port, you will need to install the driver that tells your OS to see it as a MIDI instrument.
Hope this helps!
